Jared Sparks
Jared Sparks (1789–1866) was an American historian, educator, and Unitarian minister, best known for his work as a biographer and editor of historical documents. He is particularly noted for his comprehensive collection of writings by notable American figures, including his edition of "The Writings of George Washington" and his biography "The Life of Gouverneur Morris." Sparks was also the president of Harvard University from 1849 to 1853. His dedication to preserving and organizing American historical records made him a prominent figure in early American historiography.
