J. J. (Jean Jules) Jusserand
Jean Jules Jusserand (1855–1932) was a French diplomat, historian, and writer best known for his role as the French ambassador to the United States during the early 20th century. He played a key part in strengthening Franco-American relations, especially during World War I. Jusserand was also a respected scholar of English literature, writing works such as "A Literary History of the English People" and "With Americans of Past and Present Days." In 1917, he won the first Pulitzer Prize for History for his book "With Americans of Past and Present Days."
