Howard R. Garis
Howard R. Garis (1873–1962) was an American author best known for his prolific children's literature. He created the popular "Uncle Wiggily" series, beginning with "Uncle Wiggily's Adventures" in 1910, featuring the lovable elderly rabbit and his adventures. Garis also contributed significantly to the "Tom Swift" series under the pseudonym Victor Appleton and wrote for the "Bobbsey Twins" and "The Motor Boys" series. Over his career, he wrote more than 300 books and thousands of short stories, making him a central figure in early 20th-century children's literature.
