Horatio Robert Forbes Brown
Horatio Robert Forbes Brown (1854–1926) was a Scottish historian and author known for his extensive works on Venetian history. He spent much of his life in Venice and developed a deep expertise in the city's history and culture. Brown's notable works include "Life on the Lagoons" (1884) and "Venice: An Historical Sketch of the Republic" (1893). He was also a translator and edited several volumes of Venetian state papers, contributing significantly to the understanding of Renaissance Venice.
