Harlan Page Halsey
Harlan Page Halsey, an American author born in 1837 and died in 1898, was best known for his prolific output of dime novels under the pseudonym Old Sleuth. His works, which catered to the burgeoning demand for inexpensive, sensational literature in the late 19th century, often featured detective stories with thrilling plots and dynamic characters.
