H. C. (Harry Crecy) Yarrow
Harry Crecy Yarrow was an American surgeon, naturalist, and ethnologist who contributed significantly to the fields of medicine and anthropology in the late 19th century. He served as an assistant surgeon in the U.S. Army and was known for his extensive work in documenting Native American burial customs, particularly through his publication "Introduction to the Study of Mortuary Customs Among the North American Indians." Yarrow also played a key role in several natural history surveys, contributing to knowledge about reptiles and amphibians. His multidisciplinary work spanned across medical, scientific, and cultural studies, making him an influential figure in both anthropology and natural history.
