George S. (George Shepard) Chappell
George Shepard Chappell (1877–1946) was an American writer, architect, and humorist best known for his work with the satirical magazine "The New Yorker". Writing under the pseudonym "Dr. Traprock", Chappell authored humorous travel parodies, including "The Cruise of the Kawa" (1921), which poked fun at popular adventure narratives. He also published "The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle" and "Through the Alimentary Canal with Gun and Camera," continuing his satirical approach. Besides his work in humor, Chappell contributed serious architectural articles, drawing on his training as an architect from Yale University.
