G. F. (George Forrest) Browne
George Forrest Browne (1833–1930) was an English bishop and author, known for his work in the Church of England and his scholarly writings. He served as Bishop of Stepney and later as Bishop of Bristol. Browne wrote extensively on topics such as archaeology and history, including the books "Ice-Caves of France and Switzerland" and "The Recollections of a Bishop." His academic interests were reflected in his membership in the Society of Antiquaries of London, where he contributed to the study of ancient monuments and architecture.
