Eliza Cook
Eliza Cook (1818–1889) was a popular English poet and writer known for her sentimental and patriotic verse. She published her first poetry collection, "Melaia and Other Poems," in 1838 and gained widespread recognition for her contributions to the working-class literary movement. Cook also edited her own weekly publication, "Eliza Cook's Journal," which focused on social issues, literature, and education. Her most famous poem, "The Old Armchair," became a beloved piece, reflecting her themes of home and domesticity.
