Elbridge Streeter Brooks
Elbridge Streeter Brooks (1846–1902) was an American author, editor, and historian known for his works aimed at children and young readers. He wrote numerous biographies and historical books, often focusing on themes of patriotism and American history. Some of his notable works include "The Century Book for Young Americans" and "Historic Boys: Their Endeavors, Their Achievements, and Their Times." Brooks was also an editor for various magazines and contributed significantly to the genre of children's literature in the late 19th century.
