Charles Tomlinson
Charles Tomlinson (1927–2015) was an English poet, translator, and artist known for his precise and visual style, often inspired by nature and landscapes. His poetry collections, such as "Seeing is Believing" (1958) and "The Way In" (1974), reflect his fascination with perception and the natural world. Tomlinson was also a skilled translator, notably translating works of Italian poets like Giuseppe Ungaretti and Spanish poets such as Octavio Paz. In addition to his writing, he was a professor of English at the University of Bristol, where he influenced a generation of poets.
