Charles E. (Charles Eugene) Flandrau
Charles Eugene Flandrau (1828–1903) was an American lawyer, judge, and author known for his writings on the early history of Minnesota. He played a significant role during the Sioux Uprising of 1862, notably organizing a defense at the Battle of New Ulm. Flandrau wrote several books and essays on the history and culture of the American frontier, including "The History of Minnesota and Tales of the Frontier." His legal career was equally notable, serving as an Associate Justice of the Minnesota Territorial Supreme Court.
