Benjamin Drake
Benjamin Drake was an American writer and historian active in the early 19th century, known for his works on Native American history and early American pioneers. He is best remembered for his book "Life of Tecumseh," a detailed biography of the famous Shawnee leader, which he co-wrote with his brother, Daniel Drake. Drake also authored "The Life of Black Hawk," chronicling the life of the Sauk leader. His writings were significant in shaping early historical perspectives on Indigenous leaders and the conflicts between Native Americans and European settlers.
