Barry Pain
Barry Pain (1864–1928) was an English writer known for his versatile work, which ranged from horror and supernatural fiction to humor and satire. He gained early recognition with his short stories and sketches, often compared to those of Saki and Jerome K. Jerome. His most famous works include the humorous novel "Eliza" series, starting with "Eliza," and the horror story "The Undying Thing." Pain was also an accomplished journalist and essayist, contributing to several leading periodicals of his time.
