Antonio Fogazzaro

Antonio Fogazzaro
Antonio Fogazzaro (1842–1911) was an Italian novelist and poet known for blending romanticism with philosophical and spiritual themes in his works. His most famous novel, "Piccolo mondo antico" (1895), explores themes of family, faith, and political loyalty during the Austrian domination of Northern Italy. Fogazzaro's writing often reflected his interest in Catholicism, with tensions between traditional beliefs and modern ideas. Other notable works include "Malombra" (1881) and "Il Santo" (1905), the latter sparking controversy for its progressive religious views.
