Alexandre Dumas fils
Alexandre Dumas fils (1824–1895) was a French writer and playwright, best known as the son of the famous author Alexandre Dumas. He achieved great success with his novel "La Dame aux Camélias" (1848), a semi-autobiographical work based on his relationship with a courtesan, which was later adapted into the opera "La Traviata" by Verdi. Dumas fils focused heavily on social themes, particularly morality and the position of women in society, and became an influential figure in French literature. He was inducted into the prestigious Académie française in 1874 for his contributions to drama and literature.
